Julie Vail Is a Paralegal with Curran Legal Services Group, Inc. and a recent graduate of Georgia State University College of Law. With over a decade of employment in the legal sector, Ms. Vail has experience working in a variety of different practice areas. Ms. Vail began law school as a part-time evening student in 2017 while continuing to work at her previous law firm during the day. Since joining Curran Legal, Ms. Vail has gained valuable practical skills and knowledge that have contributed to her academic success in law school. Ms. Vail looks forward to obtaining her license to practice law in Georgia and continuing her employment with Curran Legal.

Experience
Ms. Vail joined Curran Legal Services Group, Inc. in January of 2020. In her current role, she provides both legal and administrative support to the firm. She has several years of experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including commercial business documents, corporate documents, and litigation-related documents. Ms. Vail also regularly conducts legal research and analysis of client issues and provides a summary of findings for the firm and/or clients. Since joining Curran Legal, Ms. Vail has gained unique experience in the specialty practice of government contracting law. For the firm's government contracting clients, Ms. Vail manages contract novations from start to finish, including consulting and communicating with clients, preparing customized novation checklists, drafting and/or compiling novations documents, and interfacing with the government agency contact person(s) throughout the novation process.
Additionally, Ms. Vail provides firm administration services, such as: implementing and maintaining the firm's practice management platform; creating, maintaining, and organizing client files within the firm's document management database; and handling firm billing matters.
Previous Employment Experience
Prior to joining Curran Legal Services Group, Inc., Ms. Vail worked for nearly a decade at Alston & Bird, LLP, at its midtown Atlanta location. Ms. Vail had the opportunity to work in multiple practice groups during her tenure at Alston & Bird, including Litigation & Trial, Securities Litigation, Health Care (regulatory and transactional), Corporate & Business Transactions, Financial Services & Products, and REITs. In support of these practice groups, Ms. Vail routinely handled complicated document projects, such as transactional closing binders, data rooms, extranets, and special projects. While working in the Health Care group, Ms. Vail prepared complex change-of-ownership submissions for medical centers and health systems mergers and acquisitions. With the REITs group, she prepared and transmitted multistate securities filings to ensure compliance with each state's blue sky laws.
Additionally, Ms. Vail managed a practice group Resource Center for more than eight years. In her capacity as Resource Center Specialist, she trained and directed several entry-level clerks and ensured the smooth, efficient operation of the Resource Center.
